Why do some cleansers make my skin feel rubbery?

I can’t explain it exactly, but after using specific cleansers like the Reyena16 one or the Skin1004 poremizing cleanser, my skin feels weirdly rubbery afterwards? Has anyone else experienced this?

This feeling is usually described as 'squeaky clean'. It means the cleanser is too strong, so it's best to look for a gentler one.

same! i get that when the cleanser is too stripping for me. when i used skin1004's centella teatrica foaming cleanser, it made my skin feel tight and rubbery. ive seen comments saying that alkaline cleansers tend to do that. maybe you can try using more hydrating and gentler cleansers.

Both products feature Myristic acid as the main cleansing ingredient and according to Paula's choice founder it can be drying. I also had the same experience with another product so I decided to avoid products with similar formulation

I haven’t tried these cleansers but heard that ingredients like Lauric Acid contribute to that “squeaky clean” feel 🥲
