It depends. I just saw a post from a chemist about it.
It can be used in polyethylene bead form like your Averno scrub or in a polyethlene wax ( a type of synthetic wax ) used in products such as Clinique Take The Day Off.
I personally won’t use the polyethylene bead form in my scrubs since I prefer the salt, sugar, beans, or seed base physical scrub but I am neutral with polyethylene in wax form if it in my skincare. I won’t seek it, nor do I actively avoid it.

I think it's unavoidable now that it's in our food and in us. 😕 If this is something you're concerned about, I would try to only use recyclable bottles of things and be conscious of tge types of fabrics you buy. A lot of microplastics enter our water through washing synthetic clothing materials.

I do my best to avoid anything that has the little beads or any clearly obvious sign that there is artificial products contained in it, but there is only so much you can do to avoid it any more. I think we are all exposed to it no matter how hard we try.
