Is double cleansing worth it?

Hi! I’ve been using YTTP kale/green tea cleanser for about two years now. I so far haven’t been double cleansing since I have dry skin, and felt that my skin is clean (but not stripped) after using it. But I wanted to get other people’s opinions, should I double cleanse anyway? Or is this cleanser enough? (Entire night routine linked, in case it matters! (Idk why it’s out of order))

Yep double cleanse! No matter how good a gel (water based) cleanser is, it still is different with double cleansing. Double cleansing cleanses heavy substances like sunscreen and makeup, while water based targets mostly sebum and dirt. Even if it seemingly removes makeup/spf well, there are still little makeup/spf molecules left in your pores that aren’t cleaned out by the water based cleanser. Oil cleansers work well by cleansing your pores and melting these substances etc

Thank you! I’ve been looking at The Inkey list’s oat cleansing balm, which seems like a good choice for my price point, so I’ll try that out!

Yes highly recommend it for all skin types, I would say milk cleanser + foam cleanser (for dry or normal skin type) because I see oily cleanser can cause irritation and you need a good cleanser for your tender skin & oil cleanser + foam cleanser (for combo or oily skin type) that’s my humble opinion

For the ultimate skincare warriors out there, imagine this: Picture yourself in the glow of a neon-lit bathroom, music pulsating, as you embark on the Double Cleanse Dance. Step one: An oil-based cleanser swoops in like a makeup magician, dissolving every trace of that bold lipstick or sun-defying SPF. Step two: Enter the water-based superhero, who swooshes in to wash away the remains of the day, leaving your skin ready to take on the world, sans clogged pores or unwelcome breakouts. Double cleansing, it's the VIP treatment your skin deserves! 💃🕺✨

I think is better to double cleanse, specially if you use sunscreen and makeup. There’s a lot of options for the first step of cleansing: oil cleanser, balm, micellar water, cleansing toner, cleansing pads, milk cleansers ect, so you can try the product that fits you better :)

I have dry skin and I double cleanse every single night. It’s not stripping and doesn’t dry out your skin at all, so no worries about that. But if you wear makeup, wear sunscreen, and/or have acne prone skin, I think it’s worth the extra step to make sure everything is removed from your skin nightly.
