Skin reaction to products πŸ˜”

I recently received a Philosophy - Dose of Wisdom eye cream dark circle spot treatment to try out. However, after just two days of using it overnight, I noticed that the areas where I applied the cream got drier and darker. My mom even recognized the difference right away and pointed out the darker spot on my orbital bone. I guess it might not be suitable for my sensitive skin. Sadly, I have to stop using it now and hope that my face returns to normal soon. It has been a week since I stopped using it, but the burning and redness are still present. Can you suggest any actions that can help alleviate the allergic reaction when someone's skin reacts to a new skincare product?

Dry/Sensitive

Your barrier is probably damaged! Make sure to not use any actives and focus on soothing/barrier repair products. Personally my holy grail for redness for dryness and irritation is the centella ampoule from skin1004 and I always use it also on my eye area. Also make sure you are hydrating and mostruizing properly the area! This cream for pyunkang yul is super mostruizing!

You are absolutely right, during this week I cannot even apply serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen. I only put some Vaseline Petroleum Jelly to heal my redness and burning. I will look for the healing product that you are recommending. It's helpful a lot. Thank you so much πŸŒΉπŸ’œ

Oily/Resilient

I would suggest using healing ointments to moiture and treat the area like cicaplast baume. If the irritation continues you can try a topic antialergic medicine or a topic corticosteroids like desonide
