Cerave Purging or Irritation?

I'm not actually sure if I'm having purging from this product or it really doesn't like it at all. đŸ˜« Im stuck. I recently bought Illiyoon's cream (LITERALLY FEELS LIKE I WASTED A HUGE MONEY) I bought it before knowing this Picky app. One time I have my Epiduo night, let it dry, then out on Cerave and it stings, well for a bit. I'm stuck! đŸ˜« I don't know what moisturizer should I put now, my face is really angry with acne breakouts. Should I stop using Cerave?

If you feel the bad reaction form the product that you have been apply on tour skin , so i think for now you just skip and dont use it . Wait until a week , then try it back ! If any bad reaction feeling again so that might be the one that is not suitable for your skin . Good luck for it !! âŁïž

I have oily, sensitive skin and I would not use either of these products. I feel they would both be too heavy for my skin. I like lightweight, calming moisturizers like The Plant Base AC Pure N Skin Lotion, which has centella and licorice to calm and cool. If you're skin is irritated then you may want to reduce your routine to just a gentle cleanser (LaRoche Posay Toleraine is excellent) and moisturizer. Then gradually add more steps (moisturizing toner, essence) as your skin calms down. Sometimes even the most popular products don't work on our skin, and it's best to stop using rather than wait for your skin to adjust. I'm sure the products could be used on your body, so not to waste them.

Cerave or Illiyoon can’t cause purging. Only Epiduo could, but if you are used to epiduo and cerave is the only new product, then it’s most probably a bad reaction. Do you also react badly to Illiyoon? Why do you feel like it’s a waste of money? If you are looking for a cream that is good on top of retinols but still manageable for oily skin, i would suggest soon jung 2x barrier cream or nmf by Ordinary (this one is lighter than soon jung)

I think Epiduo isn't the variable here cause I'm at my 6th month already. My only bad habit was introducing each moisturizer aggressively (such a strong word, more like a bit "faster" prolly). 1 started cerave a earlier only apply at night, so i wanted to try illiyoon at AM earlier this Feb. So im not quite sure which one is the culprit. Amidst that, I also incorporated Cosrx Snail during my Exfoliating Night. I know I was impatient. P.s. picky says Illiyoon is risky for me.

Both of this product are not labelled as non comedogenic. I have oily acne prone -sensitive skin, I tend to avoid comedogenic product, alcohol containing, etc. Also the texture of the product you tagged is in form of cream which can make our skin become more oily. I guess you are experiencing breakout, if both of these product doesn’t contain any active ingredients. Purging happens when we are using actives such as AHA, BHA, Retinol, Vit C.

Hmmmm. About your last statement, based on my knowledge, purging only happens when we're incorporating new products on our skin. I am sure that my AHA, BHA, Retinol, and Vit. C serum has well incorporated on me since last new year. Does purging reoccurs despite using them for months?
