PIE: Post Inflammatory Erythema

Hi everyone! I really need your skincare/routine advices on how to treat PIE. I’ve been dealing this for 2 years already and this is my first time. Please share your tips too, I really appreciated it. These are the skincare products that I’ve been using throughout these 2 years on the journey of PIE experience. P/s: Currently, I’m on a breakout spree since it’s the time of the month again.

For me vitamin C and Tranexamic acid (in different routines) has helped to fade my acne marks a little faster than usual

You already had a really good routine, aside from the sunscreen that hadiskintreat mentioned, everything looks great. The only issue is that sometimes peoducts works a Little too long and you need a lot of patience. I struggled with pie as well, i use cos de baha hikotinol serum ( ans some other as well ) and the improvement took 4 months. But it did improved.

I struggled with this just last year after I had a massive breakout from the heatwave we had. I've now read a lot of things and know what I'd do (but I haven't had a massive breakout since then). PIE fades on it's own over time but it can take up to 6 months. The best thing is to avoid PIE from forming, try to soothe the skin and keep inflammation low. To help your skin heal, hydrating ingredients are ones to look out for. Beta glucan is both very hydrating (better than hyaluronic acid) and soothing. The most promising ingredients are niacinamide and vitamin C, vitamin C is known to be beneficial for erythema caused by sundamage but it may also work for PIE. Vitamin C also helps fighting acne so you'll get benefits either way. Whilst reading about PIE, this Benton serum got recommend, you might want to give it a try. Good luck!

I see that in your vitamin C serum, there's witch hazel and just like bee venom, that's an astringent, so be(e) careful ;). If you want to try another vitamin C derivative, there's magnesium ascorbyl phosphate and sodium ascorbyl phosphate, the latter one good for fighting acne bacteria as well. Both these derivatives have more proof backing them up. Alpha arbutin may not do anything for PIE, it works for PIH though. And be careful not to go overboard with the niacinamide, it can cause breakouts. Remember, PIE isn't pigment, it's small blood vessels, so pigment treatments isn't what you're looking for with PIE.
