Skin1004 Irritation

Has anyone experienced irritation with the Skin1004 brightening ampoule? Last night I accidentally applied it over my eyelids and entire eye area like I would a soothing product. Then this morning I woke up with this itchy red patch around both my eyes. It’s not super dry or flaky, just a bit textured and like a compromised skin barrier. I’ve been using it for about a week now and I’ve had no problem on my undereyes. Maybe there are too many actives for the thin skin around the eyes? Has anyone else had this happen? I have pretty tough and combo skin that doesn’t get irritated that often so this seems a bit weird. I’ve never used tranexamic acid so it could be that.

This is like a fifth post like this in the past couple of days. I'd recommend to stop using it and just go back to gentle cleanser and moisturiser (best with ceramides) for a bit until your skin feels normal again. It's actually worrying to see so many people experience some sort of reaction. I have used their different ampoule and it broke me out. I now don't trust Skin1004, especially after all the raving reviews from the mass giveaways.

@CaitlynF I don't think it's harsh, I think people should be more critical and honest about the giveaway products instead of leaving unconditionally positive reviews even after products caused a reaction. Companies use this as a very inexpensive marketing trick and it's working wonders.

I do use this ampoule everyday morning and night. After I finish applying it on my face, I always dab some of the excess product, on my hands, on my eyes area and I didn’t got any irritation there !~ As you said it could be the tranexamic acid, and the fact that the skin around the eyes is very thin and sensitive. Hope your skin will heal soon 💛

Same. I use it twice a day and no irrigation 🙂 But I've used tranexamic acid before without issues.

Please take a break from the Ampoule until your skin heals. 💓 I'm taking a cautious approach with it as I'd read of some Pickies having a difficult time with the previous Skin1004 Madagascar Ampoule & I've read again about some Pickies having a difficult time with this Ampoule too. I've decided to use the Brightening Ampoule alternate days for the first 2 weeks to observe how my skin responds to it.

I’m guessing because there’s too many actives in the serum so avoid sensitive areas like around the eyes. I’m also testing this serum and I guess it’s really strong for me. It made my skin really tight.

I actually applied this ampoule near the eye area too, simply because I wanted to see if I can reap the brightening effects on my dark undereyes lol 🤣 Fortunately, it hasn't caused me any irritations yet
