New to Rosacea! please tear my routine apart 🫠

I just recently been told that I have rosacea which I have been suspecting for ages but it comes and goes in the past year but in the recent weeks it looks like it's here to stay. I would like to revamp my existing routine that I've been on for at least the past 2 years. I have some notes on the products that I'm using and I will tag them in this post too. I'm open to suggestions and willing to try new products if I could get my hands on travel sized ones first. Cleanse Day - Cosrx Good morning cleanser Note: no significant +/- to skin after using, just a tad tighter if I do not immediately follow with skincare Willing to try a gentler cleanser. Night - First Cleanse Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Cleaning Oil Note: Pretty good at removing make up, skin doesn't feel tight but also because I will follow up with a second cleanse with Cosrx Good Morning Cleanser. Is this a no no? Chemical Exfoliant Day - Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant Note: I use this right after cleaning but for the past year I realised I kinda need to buffer it with a toner (see below) AND only keep it to maximum 2x a week because it started to irritate my skin a little. (And I use sunblock too.). Skin is soft in the evening but I'm not sure of its efficacy anymore. I do have some clogged pores. Considering an Azelaic Acid instead because I read that it might be more beneficial for rosacea. Please recommend products here :) currently looking at reviews for Geek and Gorgeous's 101 aPad 20% Azeclair Serum New to Night Routine My Derm just prescribed me with Soolantra and I apply a pea size on my red areas right after Night cleansing, wait for it to fully dry and then moisturize. Is this an OK way to do it or is there a better way? Note: been on it for 3 weeks with not much improvememt to be honest. Will continue to use it and ask for something else that might help. Tone * do I need a mist toner here? * Day - Hada Labo Premium Hyaluronic Acid Lotion Night - Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence Note: sometimes I use both at the same time. Very comfortable on the skin. Don't find that they irritate my skin either. Serums/Boosters (used interchangeably) Day - Tranexamic Acid 3% Using my derm's own brand but honestly don't see any +/- . Can anyone who have benefited from this share what I'm supposed to be look out for? The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% and B5 Dr Ceuracle Royal Vita Propolis Ampoule Would like to try other brands. Oils I just bought Indie Lee Squalene after reading that it might help to soothe the redness. Have not tried. Question that has been bugging me is... Do I apply oil before or after moisturizer? I've seen both recommendations. Moisturizer Day - Jumiso Waterfull Hyaluronic Acid Cream I'm starting to find this a tad too oily for my skin, used for about 1 month. Previously was using Cosrx Advanced Snail 92 All in one cream and thought that even when it was sticky at first, it didn't leave a lasting sensation. Night - Laneige Water Sleeping Mask I love this because its comforting, fragrance is not overwhelming and it's adequate for night use. Thank you all in advance for reading this :)

Hello! There are good cheap rosacea creams out there that you could add to your night routine. Have you considered going to an asthetician or dermatologist? Your products seem good, as long as your face doesn’t get sensitive or flare up after one of them you can keep using them all. I would say start exfoliating in your night routine, instead of morning because your skin is more sensitive after it. Azaelic acid is good, but don’t get caught up using too many things, sometimes less is more. I would say use it when you are not exfoliating. You didn’t mention you sunscreen, it’s very important to use one otherwise your skin will get more sensitive and possible cause redness. Good luck!

I’ve found that products with fragrance or essential oils make my redness flare up, so the Laniege Sleeping Mask might not be the best. I love the hydrating and moisturizing products you have listed, and HA is great for Oily skin, since it is hydrating without being heavy. Snail mucin is great too. I adore Cica for my redness and would suggest a sleeping mask with cica instead. I like the Laniege one, it does have one essential oil, but it hasn’t irritated or made my rosacea flare up. I want to try others eventually, since I adore my Cica moisturizer. The oil question is confounding to me, since people seem to go back and forth on it lol I’ll let someone else answer that.

thanks for the recommendation! I've not found that I'm sensitive to fragrance ... yet but I'm keeping a close watch on that

I agree with @Gelly10 as to fragrances and oils makes my rosacea much worse. I've had rosacea for so long now I've come to accept flare-ups are just a part of life. I've tried everything from prescription topicals to rosacea specific products and found having a simple routine is sometimes best. Aveeno calm and restore oat gel cleanser is beyond gentle on sensitive skin. Aveeno Oat gel moisturizer is wonderful for hydration. I would definitely recommend a good sunscreen ideally SPF 50.

thank you! yes I'm starting to lean towards using less products now. makes it easier for me to pin point on which might be causing more flare ups.
