Favourite western skincare products?

What is your favourite western skincare product or brand that gives the same feeling as Korean and Japanese skincare products? Since starting my Korean skincare journey I’ve realised that I’m forgetting all about western skincare and want to remind myself of some of the amazing products out there. I think there is is definitely a stigma that Korean skincare has more soothing and nourishing properties compared to others so please feel free to break some stereotypes here!

I was someone that went to k-beauty, jbeauty and Tbeauty because I wasn't satisfied with western skincare and I'm now back to western skincare because I feel western brand filled the gap (and also I'm tired of ordering online). Here are some of my western (french pharmacy) favorites that reminds me of Jbeauty, K-beauty, Tbeauty: - GARANCIA purifying, smoothing cleansing foam. It is gentle yet absolutely amazing at purifying and smoothing. It reminds me of HADALABO's Tamagohada cleanser or ROSETTE's cleansing pastes. - LA ROCHE POSAY Effaclar Iso-Biome line. Both purifying but very gentle and soothing products for acne prone skins, especially those under harsh treatments. Finally some GENTLE anti-acne skincare. - SVR Hydra Essence B3. A thick hydrating essence. Reminds me of the iconic Gokujyun by HADALABO. - URIAGE Glow essence. Another hydrating essence from the west. It's less viscous than SVR's and contains light fragrance. - SANOFLORE Rose's night balm - SANOFLORE Merveilleux Night mask Both are great night products! Finally some decent sleeping masks from the west. - URIAGE Water sleeping mask. A great sleeping mask that allows me to NOT pay for an overpriced Water bank by Laneige😁 - BIODERMA Créaline (Sensibio) serum. This MILKY soothing, moisturizing, plumping and anti-aging serum reminds me so much of all these milky serum from Jbeauty. I'm in love! it's about time we got some milky serums here!! - SVR cleansing balm. I feel like this is the only cleansing balm from French pharmacy lol We're lucky it is an excellent product! I repurchase that one all the time. - SVR Bi-Serum. So that one is for anti-wrinkle care. I love it because of it's bi-phased texture that is a perfect mix between nourishing and hydrating. - AVÈNE Hydrance gel. Jbeauty is well known for its all one one products! Avène has an interesting hydrating gel cream that can be applied as a moisturizer, sleeping mask, eye cream etc. - LA ROCHE POSAY Cicaplast mist and AVÈNE Hydrance mist. Both remind me of these soothing, hydrating mists we can use at every moment of the day. I'm probably forgetting a lot bc I'm in a rush rn🤣

oh! I forgot about sunscreens! Those are the sunscreens that made me able to "forget" about j-beauty and k-beauty sunscreens (I still order some from time to time but I'm glad I found HG sunscreens that I can buy locally) Vichy UV age daily. super lightweight milky texture that leaves a semi matte/natural finish. Is packed with niacinamide and peptides. Eucerin oil control (the EU version) is a superb cream that leave a semi matte finish. it's absolutely not greasy. I love how fuss free it is. Eucerin gel cream 200ml. a BIG tube for an affordable price like this big Japanese sunscreens. this one if for face and body. my combo skin loves it, it's not sticky at all. Mustela sun stick reminds me a lot of Abib's sun stick. leaves a very beautiful glow without leaving my skin feel or looks oily. I wish it was bigger like Abib's. Uriage sun milk reminds me a lot of Japanese iconic fluid sunscreens. it leaves a semi matte finish without any white cast. not a sunscreen but I forgot to talk about Bioderma's soothing gel that is amazing for face and body. I use it as a serum or as a moisturizer, so plumping, leaves a natural finish, it also contais ceramides. it's great under a sunscreen. and Patyka milky toner omg I forgot about this, it's great! https://eu.patyka.com/products/soothing-milky-toner

Loreal probably is the most well known western brand I started my skincare with. Most western brands are a lil overpriced though not all are like that and some Korean brands are also on the high end side for good reasons. These are some of my favorite western brands.

I don’t know much about what has a k-beauty feel/vibe to it, but I’ve always been ecumenical in my approach to skincare and have found good results with these Western brands—either with the brand as a whole (e.g. Paula’s Choice) or at least with particular products (e.g. Drunk Elephant—I think it’s mostly overpriced, but I love the Protini Polypeptide Cream and the TLC Sukari Babyfacial). Holy Snails is a k-beauty-inspired indie brand that I like a lot! And I’m learning more about TULA and have liked what I’ve seen so far.
